Update on Earthquake situation (NNR Chengdu).
As the tradegy and magnitude of the recent earthquake in China unfolds we are extremely fortunate that no NNR person has been lost in the catastrophe. Power is out of course but operations will resume soon.

Our hearts and sympathies go out to those who have lost so much.

Beijing (BJS) inbound delays.
Chinese Customs and Commerce advisories have suggested there will be 1-2 days delay on clearing goods into Beijing in the run up to the Olympic Games. We've already seen increased compliance awareness in the region. NNR is positioned throughout North China - in Beijing, Qingdao, Tianjin and Dalian.

22 Million (22,000,000) photo-copies !!
The NNR group has been globally and continually assessing its output and environmental impact. It is estimated that in 2007, although already very eco-conscious, the Global Logistics division still made over 22 MILLION photo-copies. We have many ways to reduce this, including e-billing, e-documentation & EDI.

Please help us, help you and help the planet !

Ocean capacity difficulties (USA).
Export Ocean cargo is suffering for movements out of the USA. Ships are suggested to be fully booked upto 6 weeks in advance. NNR's protected space goes some way to help but everyone wants it (!) and therefore some Steamship Line loyalty is questionable on occasions. There is also a lack of equipment. With Asia Trade cargo it is often beneficial to send containers back empty rather than incur the huge (and still escalating) fuel costs involved in USA inland transportation.

Fuel Surcharge rising ($1.25 /Barrel) again !!
Airfreight FSC is increasing on a daily basis. Rates differ by regions and by carrier. For import cargoes it is impossible to keep customers up to date every day and therefore we request you please prepare for increases that reflect the escalating Fuel pump and Barrel prices. BAF for ocean cargo is similarly effected.

Airfreight export FSC is currently GBP 0.68 per kilo.
Domestic trucking FSC is currently 11%
