Ocean Rate Restoration - Far East WESTBOUND (import into UK)
NNR always strives to mitigate or minimise carrier increases. Below are extracts from a recent Shipping Line circular that highlights the need and intention of 'Revenue Recovery' or 'Rate Restoration' (RR) programmes.
"
Existing freight rate levels still do not offer sufficient revenues to cover the costs incurred on this trade. We must continue to improve our revenue versus cost and as a committed service provider on the Far East to North Europe Westbound trade (the Shipping Line) are to introduce a further RR Program as follows:
- US$ 450 per 20ft container (Dry, Reefer and other)
- US$ 900 per 40ft container (Dry, Reefer and other)
Effective from: 15th June, 2009 (B/Lading date) until further notice. Due to the current Economic Climate we cannot rule out further such RR processes during the second half of 2009.
"
In this volatile time we plan to restrict pricing changes to a monthly basis and will do all we can to minimise increases - but please be prepared.
